salvador dali's painting

my thoughts on the quality of this painting. by no means am i a qualified art critic but my thoughts are just that. i think dali purposely made the man on the left side of the painting less clear to enhance the skull that the women make because the smaller the image is the easier it is to see the skull instead of the women. and you still can see the man just as clearly as before.

Jusitifiability

yesterday we were discussing the justafiability of different areas of knowing. during that class we were putting the justafiablity of each on a scale of 1 to 10. the classification of ethics for me was difficult to classify. do to the amount of different situations that ethics play apart of. some of the choices you make are easily to justify to everyone. other situations your decision maybe easily justify able to you but are to convey your justification to others around you. that one of the main reasons that ethics is hard to justify the justification of ethics. compared to some of the other ways of knowing.

Art vs. Language

Art is it better at convenance than Language?

This question is a good one. if you really think about it art really is able to put across alot of ideas that are hard to explain. for an example an image of a heart brings to mind the idea of love. love being a very hard thing to describe with words is able to be thought of by a simple thing that most people are able to depict. where language to bring to mind the concept of love you might just say the word but personnally i think art bring out the deeper emotion than the word.
the word might just be toss around in casual conversation. and in doing so loses the meaning and importance as an emotion. then language uses alsorts of complicated metaphors and enuendos that make the word lose it meaning again. so a piece of really good art is better than a thousand words.
In language there are alot of words and different languages some languages are more developed. then there are some that are merely noises strung together. but aren't all languages verbal languages just noises strung together?then there are other forms of language that are used in art. a piece of litature is using both art and language convey with both the artistic interpretation and the literal interpretation. which might be different to different people might i add.

if you just take the time to look at a art piece you'll be able to find a deeper meaning behind almost anything.
